An interactive calculation document for the automated determination of the half-life of pollutants in atmospheric air based on the kinetics of the first order of decay. Ecological calculator with open formulas in the TechEditor environment.
This digital product is a specialized calculation document designed for ecologists, atmospheric air protection specialists, public health risk assessment specialists, state inspectors and students of environmental specialties.
The solution makes it possible to determine the half-life of toxic substances in the atmosphere — the time during which the concentration of the pollutant is halved. This is critically important for predicting the duration of pollution after emergency releases, planning evacuation measures, and assessing the natural self-cleaning of the atmosphere.
Unlike manual calculations, changing any input parameter (initial concentration, final concentration, observation time) automatically updates all results — decay rate constant and half-life. After that, a decay graph is automatically generated.
The product automates the analysis of the dynamics of atmospheric pollution:
1. Input data. You enter the observation time t (hours), the initial concentration C₀ (mg/m³), and the concentration C after time t (mg/m³).
2. Algorithm: The system performs the calculation in two stages:
3. Visualization. Automatic graph generation.
In this digital solution, all formulas are visible. You can see the calculation process, the decay constant, and the half-life in real time. The program automatically checks the validity of the input data and alerts you to any potential errors.
