How to make images in reports interactive (drawing in TechEditor)

In this video, we’re going to introduce you to a powerful automation tool in TechEditor — the “Diagram Viewport” object. You can find it on the Automation tab. It’s designed to display a section of a diagram in a report.
Yes, you heard that right! Let’s look at an example. Imagine you’ve created a calculation sheet that includes an image and related calculations. In this diagram, you can change any parameters interactively, and TechEditor will automatically perform all the calculations. This is the standard way of working with the program.
Now, let’s say you need to prepare a report based on these calculations. You need to connect the data from the text document with the diagram. We’ll do this using the “Diagram Viewport” object.
In the editor, we’ll select the required diagram. We’ll adjust the display boundaries as needed. After closing the editor, we can see that the necessary section of the diagram is displayed in the report.
It’s important to note that the diagram is fully integrated into the report’s mathematical model. All calculations carried out in the report are also reflected in the diagram. If you make a copy of this section and change some parameters in the report, TechEditor will respond correctly. This approach allows you to template your projects: create unique blocks in diagrams once and refer to them in your explanatory notes as often as needed.
Best of luck with your work! We appreciate your likes and comments on this video.
See you soon!
