With TechEditor, you can develop not only text documents and algorithmic diagrams, but also full-fledged applications. These mini-programs can have a windowed interface with common controls and run directly in TechEditor. No additional software is required to develop or run such applications. Today we will look at one such digital solution — an application for modal analysis of a beam.

Download the calculator from this website. Unzip the archive on your computer and run the file with the extension ".tec". Launch the calculator by double-clicking on it in Project Explorer.
As you can see, the calculator has a window with a beam figure, a cross section, a data entry block, and a field for results. In the "Mode" list, you can select the index of the waveform or enter the desired one. The calculation of the frequency is based on an analytical formula, so the calculator does not limit you in choosing a form.
Next, you need to specify the length of the beam with the units of measurement separated by a space. Note that TechEditor supports all major units of measurement for physical quantities. So you can work not only with meters, but also with centimeters, millimeters, inches, feet, and other units.
The next step is to specify the mass of the beam. There are two options: total mass or distributed mass. When choosing an option, do not forget to add the correct units of measurement.
The last inputs are the elastic modulus and moment of inertia of the cross section. Click the "Calculate" button and get the calculation results in text format. The angular frequency of vibration, linear frequency (in hertz), and vibration period (in seconds) are available to you. This data can be copied and used further in your project.
