How to create your own set of units in TechEditor

TechEditor is known for supporting almost three thousand units of measurement. Any number can be easily converted to a physical quantity by simply adding the necessary units to the numerical value, separated by a space.
The program performs all intermediate calculations in the SI system. If you do not specify the units in which you want to see the result, the program will display the result in SI units.
To get the result in the desired units, you need to specify this explicitly. This solves the issue for a specific mathematical object, but is there a way to do this for other expressions in the document, once and instantly?
This option was introduced in the latest versions of TechEditor. Open the project properties, the Calculations tab. Go to the “Units of measurement” section.
In this list, you need to specify the units that will be used in calculations by default. Each unit should occupy one line.
This way, you can create your own (custom) sets of measurement units. Please note: most math packages offer predefined systems of units, such as SI, United States customary units, and others. Sometimes this makes it impossible to use units that are not included in such a predefined preset. Instead, in TechEditor, you can mix units from different systems, if necessary. For example, you can operate with kilonewtons and inches in your calculations at the same time. Also, you can always set unique units for any parameter - for such expressions, global options are ignored and they are always output in the specified units.
I hope you found this information useful. Use TechEditor in your professional activities! Like, subscribe, and share this video. Good luck!
