The solution is based on the empirical formulas of A. S. Virnovsky, widely used in engineering practice for analyzing failures and operational performance of sucker rod columns.

The document enables reliability assessment of sucker rod strings, including evaluation of rod breakage probability, repair frequency, and operational downtime. It can be used for well performance analysis, comparison of normal and complicated operating conditions, as well as for educational, analytical, and techno-economic studies.
